Roger Sultana - MS, ISSA, ACE, USARugby
Roger first became passionate about health and fitness as a teenager when he was introduced to Judo and Jiu-Jitsu in his home country of France. He competed at the international level with the French National Judo team where he experienced competition at the international level. During that time, Roger had the unique opportunity to travel throughout Europe and was introduced to some of the fitness training techniques he implements in his client programming today.
In 1986 Roger opened his own gym in Marseille, France, where he taught aerobics, Judo, and self defense classes while working as a personal trainer and strength coach. Upon moving to the USA in 1999, Roger was employed at a South Bay Area gym for 14 years where he held the positions of Specialized Personal Trainer and Fitness Director. As a Specialized Personal Trainer, Roger designed, prescribed, and implemented hundreds of exercise plans specific and appropriate to each individual’s abilities and goals (e.g. flexibility, weight loss, development of lean muscle mass, sport specificity, nutrition). Roger’s diverse background has allowed him to work with a variety of people and more recently he seems to have found a special niche in working with seniors. Roger takes great pleasure in working closely with the senior population and witnessing the benefits and results of exercise as it allows people to live a more meaningful, agile and active lifestyle.
Roger has a Master's degree in Sports and Conditioning from the Universite Aix-Marseille, En Provence, France. He is International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and American Council of Exercise (ACE) certified. Roger is the owner of Olympic Martial Arts which he founded in 2007 currently located in Almaden Valley; he holds a 3rd degree black belt in Judo.
