Biography

Kat Baumgartner - CPT, CES

Kat has been interested in health and fitness for most of her life. When she was 12 years old, she taught aerobics in her garage to the kids in her neighborhood and eventually went on to become a certified aerobics instructor and personal trainer.

Years later, Kat decided to pursue her dream of becoming a firefighter and enjoyed a 14 year career here in the Bay Area. She knows what it takes to stay strong, both physically and mentally. Being a firefighter requires more than just physical strength, it requires focus, courage, and determination, innate qualities she draws upon to motivate, inspire, and encourage her clients to reach their fitness goals.

After Kat’s tenure as a Bay Area firefighter, she decided to return to health and fitness.  Investing the time to further her professional education, she has attained the credentials of Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Kat has been on the Red Dot Fitness TEAM for 3 years and is the RDF Nutrition Fit Pro.  As a nutrition coach she has empowered dozens of clients to “own” their individual nutrition plan so they can achieve the results they desire.  Kat knows overcoming obstacles and finding solutions is all very personal.  Her compassionate yet no non-sense approach to our TARGETED Nutrition Coaching sessions and individualized meal planning means Kat and clients embark on the nutrition journey as a team with a realistic and results focused plan. 

Kat has competed and placed in three NPC (National Physique Committee) and WBFA (Women’s Bodybuilding and Figure Association) competitions, has participated in 24-hour adventure races, and completed the Big Sur Marathon. Although she knows what it takes to compete, she now takes a more holistic approach to fitness. She believes that exercise should be a means to an end, not the end itself:

“Exercise shouldn’t be an activity that one does for 60 minutes simply for the sake of exercising, it should enrich your life and empower you.”

By identifying and correcting faulty movement patterns and/or muscle imbalances, proper joint motion can be restored, chronic pain alleviated, and activities that once seemed out of reach suddenly become a reality. Kat believes that ANYONE has the ability to reach his/her health and fitness goals and wants to help her clients identify and overcome any obstacles standing in their way. She believes in YOU and wants to help you believe in yourself!
